Terms

How the balance works, what holds a circle, what we do not promise, and what happens if either of us wants to stop.

What the service is

Book Assessments runs Google Ads for a licensed psychologist, neuropsychologist or licensed educational psychologist in California doing private pay assessments. We build a practice page and seven assessment pages, we run the ads that point at them, and we pass on every inquiry a parent sends.

We are an advertising service. We do not provide clinical care, we do not choose a provider for a parent, and we do not take part in the assessment itself. The practice owns the clinical relationship and every decision inside it.

Who can sign up

You must hold a current California license and be able to accept private pay work. We verify every license against the California Board of Psychology or the Board of Behavioral Sciences before a page goes live, and we will not put up a page for a license we cannot verify. This is not for practices that bill Medi-Cal.

Your balance

This is a prepaid balance, not a subscription. You add money, and it draws down as your ads run.

  • Half of everything drawn runs your ads. Half is our fee. Nothing else is added.
  • The minimum first payment is $200.
  • There is no monthly fee, no contract, no setup fee, no charge per inquiry and no percentage of your evaluations.
  • You only pay for ads that actually ran in your own circle.
  • You can add money at any time, and you can see the balance and every movement of it in your dashboard.

Your circle

A circle is a 10 mile radius around a point you choose, usually your office. One practice per circle, circles cannot overlap, and the first practice to fund a circle holds it. You can fund as many circles as you want.

  • Holding a circle takes at least $200 a month of your balance running ads in it.
  • The daily budget is yours to set and cannot go below $7 a day for a circle.
  • You can pause your ads for up to 30 days a year, for a holiday or because you are full. Paused days do not count against the monthly minimum.
  • If your balance empties, your ads stop and you have 14 days to add money. Add it inside those 14 days and you keep the circle. Miss it and the circle opens to the next practice.

Refunds

A balance is not refundable, except where California law requires it. Money you have added is spent on ads and on our fee for running them, and the ad spend is gone once the ads have run.

If we make a mistake, if we charge you for ads that did not run, or if we end your service ourselves, we will return the unspent part of your balance. Ask us and we will show you the ledger it came from.

What we do not promise

We do not guarantee any number of inquiries, any number of consultations, any booked evaluations, or any amount of income. The figures anywhere on this site describe what has happened in one practice over a stated period. They are a record, not a forecast, and your own area will behave differently.

Search volume, what other advertisers do, and what parents in your area are looking for are outside our control, and so is whether a parent who writes in goes on to book anything.

What we ask of you

  • Answer your inquiries. A parent who writes in and hears nothing is the one thing that makes this fail.
  • Keep your license current, and tell us if its status changes.
  • Tell us when you are full, so we can pause your ads instead of spending your balance on inquiries you cannot take.
  • Approve or correct your pages. Nothing goes live until you have signed it off, and what is on them is your professional responsibility.

When we pause or end a service

We may pause your ads, or end the service and release your circle, if a practice stops answering its inquiries, if a license lapses or cannot be verified, if a balance stays empty past the 14 days, or if we are asked to advertise something we think is misleading or outside your scope of practice.

We will email you first and give you a chance to put it right, unless a license problem means the pages have to come down immediately. If we end the service, the unspent part of your balance comes back to you.

You can stop at any time. Tell us and we will pause the ads and take the pages down. The balance rule above still applies.

Your pages and your content

Your name, photograph, biography and license details stay yours. You give us permission to put them on the pages we build for you and in the ads that point at those pages, for as long as your account is open. The pages themselves, and the campaign behind them, stay ours.

Limits on what we owe

If something goes wrong and we are responsible, what we owe you is limited to the unspent part of your balance plus the fees you paid us in the previous three months. We are not responsible for income you expected and did not receive.

Nothing here limits anything that cannot be limited under California law.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will change this page, move the date at the top, and email every practice with an open account. If you do not accept a change, tell us and we will close your account and return the unspent part of your balance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts sitting in California.
